The palace of Tsar Alexei Mikhailovich Romanov was built in 1672 on the territory of the Kolomenskoye homestead, and it was a monument to the success of Tsar Alexei Mikhailovich in government. The palace played an important role in political life and was primary country residence of the Tsar. In the palace there were political meetings and ambassadors from other countries were accepted.

A century later decayed wooden palace was demolished by the order of Catherine the Great. Before the demolition, Catherine ordered to make detailed drawings and descriptions, which nowadays helped to restore the palace exactly the way it existed.

All that you see on this tour is the result of three years of hard work of builders and 226 specialists, who restored the interior up to the smallest details. Masters were invited to Moscow from towns and villages of Russia, known for their crafts, as well as high levels of construction skills.

Palace will impress you with exterior elegance, thoughtful planning and wealth of interiors, in which the numerous family of the Russian Tsar used to live.
