Tour To The Museum Of The Great Patriotic War
The Museum of the Great Patriotic War was established to commemorate victory in World War II and to convey to future generations of all the details of how the war happened.
The museum's square is more than 14000 square meters, and all that space is used to display museum's permanent collection and temporary exhibits. Permanent exhibition of the museum is thematically distributed through the halls that present the dioramas of the most important battles, soldiers' household items, photographs and movies, documentary sources.
Hall of Remembrance and Sorrow will make an overwhelming impression on you: it was made to commemorate more than 26 million people who were killed or went missing during the war. In Museum you can also find an electronic book, where all the names of soldiers who died in World War II are recorded.
The museum is a part of the complex located on the Poklonnaya Hill. In the vast park, centered near the museum, you will find many notable places such as the Victory Monument and an open exhibition of the military equipment. Also you will enjoy taking pictures in the park on a wide paved plaza, decorated with fountains.
